I recently attended WordCamp Sunshine Coast and was enthused by the energy of people who were attending their first WordCamp. It felt like sitting next to someone on a plane who was flying for the first time.
The novelty of watching people who know each other so well from Twitter and Slack meet in real life for the first time never wears off.
I had my Canon 70D and my Zoom H4 in my bag and thought I would capture some feedback from attendees in a vox-pops style video.
It was interesting to learn that people had flown 7.5 hours from the other side of the country or driven five hours across rural Australia to attend their very first WordCamp.
The mixture of user, developer and business related information made this particular WordCamp relevant for everyone.
My hope is that this will encourage you to attend a WordCamp in your area because nothing beats connecting with like-minded people in the flesh and sharing ideas, struggles and success stories.
WordCamp's are organised by volunteers and well supported by sponsors within the WordPress ecosystem. Get along to your next WordCamp, meet some cool people and learn some cool stuff.
