Hello. My name is Melanie G. Adcock of MGA Creative Designs, and I'm a recent graduate of the Agency Mavericks course by Troy Dean. This course has had a massive impact on my freelance business, and I'd like to tell you why.

How Was Business Before Agency Mavericks?

I've been a full-time freelancer since November of 2009 when I was laid off of my job as an IT Director. At that point, I was already freelancing building HTML sites and doing Webber, and I'm embarrassed to say I was charging around $500/site back then. I discovered WordPress in 2010 and begin building small sites for around a thousand dollars. Fast forward to now, and although I've been consistently busy, and very successful in my freelance business, I knew I was making a lot of mistakes. I had no process I was taking my clients through, I struggled writing proposals and although I'm charging a lot more than a thousand dollars per site, I still felt I wasn't being paid what I was worth.

I didn't use contracts, so I was doing with a lot of scopes creep on each and every project. Only a few of my clients were paying me for the website, Care Plans. I was keeping all my past client's sites updated and safe. I felt like I was drowning in my own business. I had jobs that were half finished due that the fact that the clients were not giving me content. I was taking on new work and unfinished jobs just keep piling it up. I knew something had to change.

How Did You First Discover Agency Mavericks?

I saw a tweet by Troy Dean leaking to his free website proposal, so I clicked on it, totally not expecting to get the full proposal. Now only that I received the proposal and email, he had three videos that were find out wonderful. They were filled with so much hopeful information and totally not selling anything. I think that's what really set him apart.

Why did you join Agency Mavericks?

When I received the email about the Agency Mavericks course, my first thought was, “Well, the free stuff was, is good. How awesome would the rest that would be?” I definitely wanted to learn more. I knew I could fix a lot of issues in my business if I just had a process I could follow. Although I was really busy at that time, I knew I needed to take the time for myself and my business.

How's Business Since Agency Mavericks?

I took what the WP Blue Print course taught me and made it my own. I tweaked it here and there to get my business. I've already taking clients to the entire process, they're happy and I'm happy. I've increased my rates 30%. I've been chosen for projects, beating out agencies because of my proposal. I have clients on website, Care Plans, ranging from $99/month to $1500/month including the company that laid me off. My recurring revenue is over $6000 a month at the moment and I have over 40 more formal clients to reach out for, for website, Care Plans. I know 2016 is going to be an awesome year.
