Number sixty-six: Install Google Analytics
Good day. I'm Troy Dean from Video User Manuals and Agency Mavericks, and this is the 101 Ways to Elevate Yourself and Demand Higher Fees: a practical guide for WordPress consultants to start attracting better quality clients, work on better, more interesting projects, and get paid better fees. Now, let's go elevate.
Number 66: Install Google Analytics. I cannot tell you how many times I've seen websites go live, or I've picked up a project three months after the website's gone live. And I've logged in, and I've tried to find some analytics, and there is no Google Analytics on this website. And I have no idea which keywords are driving traffic or where the traffic is coming from, or indeed if there is any traffic to this website. So install Google Analytics on every client website that you send live.
In fact, you can use our free Google Analyticator plugin if you like to install Google Analytics on your client's website. And then you can even show your client what their analytics look like in their WordPress dashboard. That's right. We pull their data from their Google Analytics account and display a pretty little chart and widget in the WordPress dashboard.
So just use the Google Analyticator plugin, and that will install Analytics on your client's sites for you. And tell your client that you've done this, and tell them why Google Analytics is important. You might pick up some extra consulting work out of having this conversation. So number 66 is make sure you install Google Analytics on your client's websites.
Now in the next video, I'm very excited to share with you how you can keep your client's websites up to date, their WordPress installations and their plugins up to date very quickly, very cost effectively. And this will go a long way to building a great relationship with your clients moving forward. Until then, go elevate.
