Number forty-eight: Client Champion Copy
Good day. I'm Troy Dean from Video User Manuals and Agency Mavericks, and this is the 101 Ways to Elevate Yourself and Demand Higher Fees: a practical guide for WordPress consultants to start attracting better quality clients, work on better, more interesting projects, and get paid better fees. Now, let's go elevate.
Number 48: Client champion. What does that mean? Well, it's really critical that you find someone in the organization that is your client to champion the project and champion you as the supplier and the provider of the skills for this project. So you need to find someone in the organization who is really passionate about the project and believes that you guys are the right people for the job.
It's much easier to keep a client on track if someone internally is driving the process and someone internally is working hard to make sure that they're delivering their deliverables on time. It's much easier to influence an organization from within than it is externally. So you need to identify who it is in the organization that is their internal project manager, or it might be their online marketing person, or it might just be their marketing manager, or it might be the owner's assistant.
Someone who has the bandwidth, who's a little bit savvy about web, and someone who really believes in the project and is passionate about it. And get them to bind your processes, and encourage them and educate them how important it is that we meet deadlines and we get content together on time.
So make sure you've got someone internally, client-side, who can help you champion the project. In the next video, I'm going to talk about why using premium plugins is a very good idea. Until then, go elevate.
