Number thirty-six: Show credibility
Good day, I'm Troy Dean from Video User Manuals and Agency Mavericks. This is the 101 Ways to Elevate Yourself and Demand Higher Fees. A practical guide for WordPress consultants to start attracting better quality clients, work on better more interesting projects and get paid better fees. Now, let's go elevate.
Number 36. Show credibility. Again, this is a series of ideas that you can implement as a way to keep in touch with your client once you've given them a proposal, without calling them up or without asking them for feedback on the proposal. So, one way I like to show credibility is I like to send my clients a list of websites or associations or other online entities that I belong to as a professional supply in my field.
I might say to them, how I just thought I'd let you know this is what we're doing internally to solidify our knowledge and become the best at what we do. We subscribe to… and I've just used Smashing Magazine here as an example. We subscribe to Smashing Magazine, who I thought lead us in the web space and teach us a lot about web design and client projects. We are members of Mixergy Premium, where we watch interviews and study courses from successful entrepreneurs. We are members of the local Web Design Association and here is our badge that we use on our website to show that we are fully paid out members of the local association. Or we got nominated for an award at the local small business awards last quarter for, you know, fastest-growing online business in the local area.
However you can show credibility to your client that positions you as a real business with an ongoing future, long term potential and that you are well respected in the community and that you are constantly learning and studying and fueling up and re-skilling and doing whatever you can to become the best at what you do. That's far better positioning than asking for feedback on proposal. So, however you can, however you can season this idea to taste and tweak it for your own purposes, show credibility to your clients.
In the next video, I'm going to talk about why TED Talks are important. Until then, go elevate. Make sure you subscribe to the 101 Ways Podcast in the iTunes store. Just search for 101 Ways to Elevate or visit us at wp101ways.com and download the free 101 Ways ebook.
