Number twenty-one: Email a Summary
Good day, I'm Troy Dean from Video User Manuals and Agency Mavericks. This is the 101 Ways to Elevate Yourself and Demand Higher Fees, a practical guide for WordPress consultants to start attracting better quality clients, work on better more interesting projects and get paid better fees. Now, let's go elevate.
Number 21, email a summary of the initial client meeting to the client the day after the meeting. So, you've recorded the initial client meeting on your smartphone or the transcriber or have it transcribed by an assistant or you can use speechpad.com. For around $2.00 per minute of audio they'll transcribe that audio into text and then email a summary of that back to the client. What this does is it shows the client that first of all you are paying attention, but it also helps you and the client get on the same page and make sure that you're working on the same project.
One of the main reasons I find that proposals fail to convert is because they don't match the expectations of what your client is expecting. So, a really good way to make sure that the proposal that you eventually submit matches your clients expectations is to make sure that their expectations and what it is you believe they expect align right from day one. So, recording the initial client meeting and then emailing your client a summary of that client meeting shows them that you're paying attention and it just helps you get on the same page as your client. By the time it comes around for you to write the proposal you've got a much greater chance of that proposal matching their expectations and therefore converting.
So, be productive. Record the initial client meeting. Have it transcribed or just type it up yourself into a summary and email it to your client a day or two after the initial client meeting and just say, hey, here's a summary of our meeting the other day. Just wanted to make sure we're all on the same page. We'll have a proposal to you shortly.
In the next video, I'm also going to reveal what it is you should include in this email summary that is absolutely critical. Until then, go elevate.
